AIMEE MAGNE
My photographic journey began in 2013, when a love of organic plant-based food led me to a raw culinary school in Los Angeles. Since then, I have worked as a food stylist and photographer for a number of organic and plant-based brands as well as on editorial and cookbook projects.
I attribute my style to years spent living in Stockholm, Sweden and our bush home in Titirangi which has deepened my appreciation for the natural world and how we take care of it. The ocean, embedded in my upbringing has always brought comfort and features prominently in my work.
Becoming a mother has also shaped my photographic journey. I am humbled and deeply grateful for each moment with Astrid and August – the two souls whom I have been entrusted. Our recent move to Mount Maunganui, where I grew up, has initiated an interest in architecture which I hope to pursue photographically.
In parting, I struggle with being vulnerable. I seek solace behind my lens where I can be silent and observe, quietly capturing beauty. It is such a thrill, costing nothing but bringing honest joy and lasting memories.
