CAMILLA RUTHERFORD
THE DIVINE MASCULINE
FROM THE SERIES UNDONE
Since the beginning of this pandemic we have been forced to look inward in a way we never expected, wanted or even realised we needed. Peeling back the layers and looking within, we didn’t like what we saw, our lives masqueraded in busyness and disconnect. Isolation and loneliness, anxiety and depression have cloaked us in darkness. On the outside we hold our heads high, alone we feel exposed and vulnerable.
The divine masculine finds it hard to show this vulnerability, but behind closed doors he is curled up like a child, fearful of what has become.
Under this darkness he lets it all come undone. We must come together to reconnect; the divine feminine, the divine masculine. Together we see stars, together we are born again. Together we rebuild, for we share the same sky, you and I.
ABOUT CAMILLA
Camilla lives deep in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, near Queenstown, on her husband’s families high country merino sheep station. Hailing from Scotland, Camilla originally came to NZ in search of snow in her summer break from studying at the prestigious Central St Martins College of Art in London. Somewhere along the line Camilla decided she would hang up her skis to enjoy a summer, and chose the town of Wanaka NZ to do this. It was then she started shooting mountain biking.
