THE WEIGHT OF WHAT ISN’T

BETWEEN STILLNESS AND COLLAPSE

In my work, I explore the delicate tension between the visible and the invisible, the stability and instability. The precariously balanced stack of rocks serves as a metaphor for the invisible forces that govern the visible world around us.

The visible form of the rocks, stable and precarious, exists in tension with the invisible forces of gravity, energy, and intention that hold it together, but cannot be directly perceived. The invisible is not only the unseen forces that govern balance. It’s also the thoughts, emotions, and intentions that shape our perceptions of the world. It’s a reflection on the moments in life that feel unstable or uncertain, and to consider how much of our experience is shaped by forces we cannot always perceive or control.

Balance is never permanent, and yet, in its fragility, there is beauty and meaning.
