SACHA STEJKO
UNTITLED
I created this piece during a time when discourse around women’s rights, including autonomy over our bodies, were taking a dark turn. It almost felt like something out of Black Mirror, where reality seems hard to believe. The gunmetal fabric, like armour, reflects the tension and pressure women often feel, while the figure’s ambiguity captures how our strength can sometimes be overlooked or misunderstood. It’s a quiet reflection on the challenges women face, and the resilience we employ in the face of adversity.
