I am primarily focused on uncovering the daily life of human experience. The struggles and joy, lightness and darkness. Rather than a witness I prefer to immerse and embrace the life around me. After completing a degree in Sociology, majoring in Feminist studies & Ethnicity, I later went on to study photography with a focus on documentary and portraiture.
The diversity of my personal life, with my Maori heritage, as well as growing up with feminism is an important aspect in my life and work. Blending both my sociologist sensibility with documentary and portrait photography is the source of inspiration for all of my projects.
