My first memories are of water, everywhere, endless ocean as far as I could see.

I spent the first 13 years of my life sailing around the world with my family. As ocean passages would often last for several weeks or months, isolation was just a natural part of everyday life.

Decades later, when the first COVID lockdowns began, I thought isolation would be easy for me to deal with, but found it much more difficult than I had initially anticipated.

When restrictions began to ease, I took these images, hoping to reflect the feelings that so many were experiencing around the world - myself included.

ABOUT SARA

I'm Sara, an American/English commercial photographer with an eye for detail and a love for storytelling through creative composition.

After being born in Fiji during the '87 coup, I sailed around the world with my family for 13 years before settling in New Zealand in the early '00s. This slightly off beat upbringing gave me a can-do attitude and a love for meeting people from all walks of life.

I have 11+ years experience working with clients throughout New Zealand and Australia.

I happily reside in Wellington, New Zealand with my dog, Bagel, and my three ducks, Lucky, Lennie & Louie.
